The
European Parliamentary Financial Services Forum facilitates
and strengthens the exchange of information on financial
services and Europe's financial markets between the financial
industry and Members of the European Parliament. |

"As only
the third chair and a founding member of the steering committee,
it is particularly pleasing to see the EPFSF continue to
develop as a platform for a dialogue on financial issues. In
an increasingly smaller financial world the impact of regulator's
decisions in the EU, and elsewhere, have a direct bearing
on the competitiveness of companies and safeguards for consumers. It
is no small feat that this platform has successfully facilitated
open and transparent discussions of these crucial issues
in a timely manner. I look forward to working with
my colleagues and the staff of the EPFSF as chair for the
remainder of my mandate and for the positive good of the
industry and consumers alike." Peter
Skinner MEP, Chair |

| "The
Financial Services Forum is a point of contact and information
between Members of the European Parliament and the financial
world. It developed as a valuable by-product of the Financial
Services Action Plan which involved long and complicated
items of financial legislation. Given the complexity and
the specificity of financial issues, it is essential that
MEPs become as much as possible familiar with the concepts
used and the problems arising in financial markets. The Forum
has proved to be a fruitful meeting ground to exchange information
and to pursue ideas for the development of Single European
Market for financial services. I would certainly encourage
its presence under the new Parliament and I hope Members
will continue to make the best out of its facilities." Piia-Noora
Kauppi MEP, Vice Chair |
