The EPFSF special events (by invitation only) are particularly tailored for MEPs interested in financial services. They aim at providing a briefing on the main issues and challenges affecting financial markets. They bring together key stakeholders in order to generate a lively debate on the crucial issues which are at the heart of the European legislative agenda.
Special event with EC Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis on “How the financial industry can better contribute to financial education”
On Wednesday 13 July 2016, the European Parliamentary Financial Services Forum welcomed Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis, Commissioner for the Euro and Social Dialogue, to discuss the key issue of the role of financial education, as well as the challenges ahead.
This event was co-chaired by Burkhard Balz MEP and Brian Hayes MEP who moderated the panel discussion with EC Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis and representatives from the main financial sectors (asset management, banking, insurance, pension funds), as well as representatives from the OECD and financial services users.
This special event took place on Wednesday 13 July 2016 from 12:00 to 14:30 in the Ballroom of the Renaissance Hotel in Brussels.
Special event with EC Vice-President Jyrki Katainen on “How financial markets and services can better support economic growth”
On Tuesday 23 June 2015, the EPFSF welcomed the European Commission Vice-President Jyrki Katainen to discuss the key issues of how financial markets and services can better support economic growth.
The panel discussion was moderated by Burkhard Balz MEP with EC Vice-President Jyrki Katainen and representatives from the main financial sectors (asset management, banking, exchanges, insurance, pension funds) and from financial services users.
This special event took place on Tuesday 23 June 2015 from 12:00 to 14:30 in the MEP salons at the European Parliament in Brussels.
On Tuesday 9 September 2014, the EPFSF hosted a special Reception to welcome Members of the new European Parliament.
After speeches from high-level keynotes speakers, it was an occasion for MEPs to discuss financial services issues and to learn more about the Forum. An exhibition was organised in conjunction with the event to present the activities of the Forum.
This Reception took place on Tuesday 9 September 2014 from 18:30 to 20:30 on the 3rd floor of the Altiero Spinelli Building at the European Parliament in Brussels.
