On Tuesday 23 June 2015, the European Parliamentary Financial Services Forum welcomed the European Commission Vice-President Jyrki Katainen to discuss the key issues of how financial markets and services can better support economic growth.
The panel discussion was moderated by Burkhard Balz MEP with EC Vice-President Jyrki Katainent and representatives from the main financial sectors (asset management, banking, exchanges, insurance, pension funds) and from financial services users.
This special event took place on Tuesday 23 June 2015 from 12:00 to 14:30 in the MEP salons at the European Parliament in Brussels.

The European Parliamentary Financial Services Forum is pleased to welcome European Commission Vice-President Jyrki Katainen to discuss the key issue of how financial markets and services can better support economic growth.
The challenge is to encourage and incentivise savings and capital to be put to productive use for the economy. This event will seek to discuss the financing of the pipelines of projects and obstacles to financing growth, as well as explore the practical solutions that the financial industry would propose – from helping to revive the European securitisation market, to the creation of new paths for capital to meet investment needs more efficiently, or how to ensure that public markets can best play a role in encouraging more investment in the real economy.
